3. Updates
CIP Wiki
Has been updated. Shortened tab list on left side to make it more user friendly.
Top five items (Leadership Team through Improvement Plan) are areas that have to be addressed at external visit.
Resources link is for the Leadership Team to help direct us.
We will fill in some of the information on various portions of the tabs during our all staff meeting on August 10th, 2012.
Mission, Purpose statements
Public Relations/Awareness - name tags, cups, apparel- Becky
Apparel
All apparel will be black with a white logo.
The order form is available for staff members to type in their name and which item they would like.
The fee is $4-$5 per item for the embroidering.
More detailed information will be given to Dennis so that a decision can be made on how much the ESU will pay per staff member. Staff members will then be required to pay the additional amount for their individual choice(s).
Cups
A coffee cup with the ESU logo will be ordered. The cup is black with green on the interior. Becky and Dennis will make arrangements for the ordering of the cups.
This is an opportunity to have face-to-face conversations with constituent schools/districts regarding ESU services and programs.
Health services, instructional media, special education, staff development, technology, business office (others? Coop?)
To include anyone that would like to attend (i.e. principals, superintendents, counselors, teachers, board members).
Date and time are to be determined.
When is a good time so that substitutes do not have to be utilized.
DL is available to save on drive time.
Having all districts together will be best.
Do we divided it out by each department within the ESU and have multiple meetings?
What time is best? Possibly, 4:00 p.m. for one hour.
Determine questions.
Aug 10 Staff Day: articulate department descriptions, articulate department goals (align with agency goals, others) - extension: individual goals that align with department goals
6. AdvancED Submissions Prior to External Review 10am
Self Assessment Narrative Assignments
We have previously completed this process; however, it was the former 7-Standard version of AdvancED and additional agency progress has also been made (as noted from the May 2012 Staff Meeting)
For each Standard Indicator, we are asked to identify our current level of performance on a 5-scale rubric (which we have already done as an agency). Following the administration of the ESA Staff Survey, we will update the results in order to complete the Self Assessment.
Then, a narrative for each of the 5 Standards needs to be written according to the following format:
Reflect upon your responses to each of the indicators and performance levels by considering and responding to the following questions when drafting your narrative response. Use language from the performance level descriptions to guide your writing. Cite sources of evidence the External Review team members may be interested in reviewing.
What were the areas of strength you noted? What were areas in need of improvement? What actions are you implementing to sustain the areas of strength? What plans are you making to improve the areas of need?
Leadership Team Members are assigned as follows to draft narratives. (Jeff will have a sample of the draft narratives by the August 10th meeting).
1 - Vision and Direction - Nicole/Cristen
2 - Governance and Leadership - Geraldine
3 - Teaching and Assessing for Learning - Patty
4 - Resources and Support Systems - Ben/Becky
5 - Using Results for Continuous Improvement - Nicole/Cristen
As a group, we will brainstorm a bulleted list of ideas/concepts to include for each Standard that can help to guide the authors' writing.
Review current documentation for each Standard and current list of Evidence
Add "artifacts" and "processes and practices" to the existing documentation
Jeff McQuistan will confer with authors and review/revise as needed in order for the Self Assessment to have 'one voice'.
This process will help us create an agency Standards Overview, the Leadership Team presentation during the External Review in April. Leadership Team members will deliver this presentation according to who created the Standard narratives for the Self Assessment.
What additional artifacts should be available to our staff in order to provide informed responses to the questions? These will be added and hyperlinked for reference.
administered in 2 parts (will be distributed sometime this fall by Jeff). Executive Summary
